Ed Gein was born on August 27, 1906 and was born under the sign of Virgo. Virgos are known logically and have an analytical mind as well as being very observant and an eye for detail. Ed Gein was born and raised in a rural part of Wisconsin and spent most of his life working on the family farm. He was inspired by horror movies which he watched from a young age and also had an obsession with corpses and an interest in grave-robbing.
Gein’s life took a dark, sad turn in 1955, when he was arrested for the murder and dismemberment of two women, and for grave-robbing and taking human body parts for use in macabre objects. He wanted to create a “woman suit”, made out of human skin, and had assembled articles such as belts, leggings and a mask from human body parts. Not surprisingly, the details of his gruesome crimes made headlines all across the nation.
Ed Gein was found guilty and deemed insane and he was sent to a mental institution in 1957. He remained in the institution until his death in 1984. Throughout his life, his Virgo nature likely caused him to be very analytical and observant and would likely have allowed him to have a better understanding of how to carry out the methods he did.
